Financial Advice New Zealand has confirmed it will be opening its foundation membership application process to advisers from mid-May.

The Association had originally envisaged adviser transition to the new body to commence in April, but the New Zealand Financial Advisers’ Association Programme Manager for the new body, David Yates, said the original plan to enable joint membership from 1 April was revised due to constitutional limitations on recognition of membership.

Foundation adviser members will commence official membership of their combined Association from 1 July 2018, which is the scheduled date from which Financial Advice New Zealand will become fully operational.

As previously reported, Financial Advice New Zealand is also set to announce its new CEO by mid-May (click here).
