National Advisory Group Expands

Plus4 Insurance Solutions has expanded its presence in Southland with two new advisers joining the Group, bringing the total to 44 across 18 locations.

Invercargill RFAs Brett Freeman and Dave Conner have joined the Group, bringing with them 15 years and over 40 years’ experience as advisers, respectively.

Plus4’s Group General Manager, Peter Standish, said both advisers were highly regarded Southland advisers.

“They have established successful practices serving the needs of families, businesses and the rural sector,” said Standish. “Given that Plus4 is a cooperative, the only specialist insurance and financial broking firm who is a member of the NZ Cooperatives Association, we are very selective about whom we ask to join our group.

“Our members need to not only have the necessary experience and expertise but also share our values, as each member has an equal shareholding,” he said.

AMP Appoints New Chairman

AMP Limited has announced David Murray AO will join the AMP Board as Chairman after the 2018 Annual General Meeting, on or before 1 July 2018.

On the same date, current Executive Chairman, Mike Wilkins, will resume his position of acting CEO.

Murray will lead the redevelopment of governance processes at AMP including a process of considered Board renewal and the appointment of an additional Non-Executive Director in the near term.

Together Murray and Wilkins will lead the search for a new CEO for AMP, which once appointed, will see Wilkins return to his role as a Non-Executive Director.
