Rod Severn IBANZ Appointment

Professional IQ College CEO, Rod Severn, has taken on further responsibilities at the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand (IBANZ), stepping into a General Manager role alongside his commitment to leading the College.

IBANZ stated its CEO, Gary Young, indicated a desire to focus on the association’s relationships and lobbying.

With Young’s focus on lobbying, it stated Severn’s position as General Manager will see IBANZ continue as a successful professional association and allow for a smooth succession plan in the future.

RBNZ New Appointments 

The Reserve Bank has announced the appointment of a new Head of Financial Markets and Head of Economics/Chief Economist.

Vanessa Rayner has been appointed as Head of Financial Markets, effective 6 May. Joining the Reserve Bank in 2016, Rayner has been an Adviser and Manager in the Financial Stability Group, including time leading the review into banks’ culture and conduct. Prior to this, she spent over a decade at the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Yuong Ha has been appointed as the new Head of Economics and Chief Economist, effective 29 April. He has been with the Bank since 1997 and most recently in the role of acting Head of the Financial Markets Department.
