To support advisers and their customers in the current Covid-19 climate, AIA NZ is covering the cost of e-consultations needed for specialist appointments under its health policies.
Due to current government lockdowns many customers cannot attend regular in-person appointments.
AIA’s Health Screen service has also moved to a tele-consultation service to provide a medical service for customers.
The insurer has already underwritten a number of conditions via tele-underwriting, and this service will continue to be expanded to support new business demands.
AIA says it’s taking a pragmatic approach to evidence of medical requirements for ongoing income protection claims, and is looking for alternative ways to support customers who are unable to certify documents during Covid Alert Levels for lump sum products.
