    Responsible and ethical investment has become a major part of the investment landscape across Australasia, with over half of all investments in Australia, and the vast majority in New Zealand, now being invested responsibly and ethically. Many investors in our region now understand that the most sustainable companies make the best investments. In this Webinar, our presenters will provide a brief introduction to responsible investing, the case for responsible investing, and run through a 4 step process of how financial advisers can start to incorporate responsible investing in to the advice process.

    About the Presenters:

    Simon O’Connor operates at the intersection of economics, finance and sustainability and has over 15 years of international experience as an economic adviser, investment analyst and environmental consultant. Prior to joining RIAA as CEO in early 2013, he spent over five years at the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) as their Economic Adviser. In particular, he led the debate on issues such as financing the transition to a low carbon economy, climate change policy and broader economic reform issues. He played an integral role in the development of the $10 billion Clean Energy Finance Corporation. Simon lives and works from his base in Melbourne

    Matthew Mimms is the Founder and Managing Director of The Investment Store. Matt has over 30 years’ experience in financial services in both the UK and New Zealand. Immediately prior to establishing the Investment Store, Matt was head of Retail Sales and Service at BT Funds Management. Matt has been integrally involved in the NZ investment and financial adviser industry for 20 years including a 2-year stint as Chair of the Auckland branch for the then named Financial Planners and Insurance Advisers Association. Matt is a strong advocate for responsible investing and is currently a board member of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia (RIAA). He has a business degree from the University of Sheffield (UK) and a Diploma in Business Studies (personal financial planning) from Massey University.
