AIA NZ’s appointment of an experienced exec to a new role within its distribution leadership team attracted much reader interest this week…
AIA NZ has announced the appointment of Jonathan Beale as Head of Strategic Accounts, a newly established role within its distribution leadership team.
The insurer says the appointment reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships and enhancing the support provided to advisers.
Beale will lead the Strategic Accounts channel “…driving innovation, growth and alignment with AIA’s broader distribution strategy.”
He brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services, including senior leadership roles at AMP, Westpac, and ASB.
AIA says that as GM Wealth at ASB, Beale led the expansion of advisory distribution, product development, asset management and KiwiSaver, earning multiple industry accolades.
Most recently, as Managing Director Partnerships at Tower, he was instrumental in securing key relationships with Kiwibank, TSB, NZHL, Ray White and others.

Beale’s appointment is effective from September 2025.
