Cigna New Zealand has awarded 21-year-old Victoria University of Wellington student Shiqi (Sabrina) He the 2020 Cigna Actuarial scholarship worth $5,000.
The scholarship will help toward the ex-Hutt Valley High School student’s university fees and a summer internship working in the Cigna actuarial team.
He is in her final year of a Commerce degree, majoring in Actuarial Science and Finance.
Actuaries work at the centre of the insurance industry, assessing risks and helping formulate insurance policies.
Michael Bartram, Cigna New Zealand’s Chief Actuary said: “Helping young talent to exceed is important to us and for the future of the industry – so it’s great to see someone with such passion and motivation joining us.”
He is looking forward to becoming a member of the actuarial profession.
