A virtual GP service is being offered by ProCare and Southern Cross Health Insurance for patients who need advice when their GP is not available.
Patients can make an appointments using the CareHQ app or the Southern Cross Health Insurance app between 7am and 7pm seven days a week. CareHQ doesn’t enrol patients so practices won’t lose patients to the service.
A consultation costs $65 when booked via the CareHQ app or $55 to Southern Cross Health Insurance members using the My Southern Cross app. Southern Cross members with GP consult cover will be able to recover a significant portion, if not all of this fee, subject to their policy conditions.
Southern Cross Health Insurance CEO Nick Astwick said: “We want to challenge the way health services are provided to deliver better value and healthcare to members, and working in partnership with providers is key to achieving that.”
