Get In Shape Advice Summits Return for 2021

This year’s Get In Shape advice summits are being held at four locations across the country with one session being broadcast online.

Summits will focus on updating the adviser community on the incoming regulatory regime and suggest ways of working in a world dominated by Covid-19.

There will be analysis of the latest research highlighting New Zealanders’ views and behaviours around financial advice, the impact of finances on our wellbeing, and tools, tips and insights for those working across the financial advice industry.

The summits, which are supported by RiskInfoNZ, are being led by the Financial Services Council in tandem with the FMA and MBIE.

Richard Klipin, CEO of the Financial Services Council says the February events have been designed with a focus on the future.

“We know that less than 20 per cent of Kiwis take [financial] advice, and those that do are better off financially and their overall wellbeing is improved,” he says.

As a community, we have the key to unlocking the benefits of advice for all Kiwis. It’s an opportunity to share experiences and expertise and support each other to ensure that financial advice continues to thrive in New Zealand.”

Optional Masterclass sessions will provide a practical workshop on managing licensing and disclosure, says Klipin.

There will be practical examples, compliance tips, process templates and will reiterate what it really means to run an adviser business,” he says.

Get in Shape dates are:

  • 10 February, Wellington
  • 11 February, Auckland (and online)
  • 17 February, Christchurch
  • 18 February, Dunedin
