Around 150 members of staff at AIA NZ in Takapuna ran and walked 5km last week to raise funds for World Vision’s work in India.

With US$2.5 million donated by AIA Group, and $30,000 from the Australian and New Zealand businesses, the AIA team trotted around the Smales Farm precinct as part of a global initiative to provide much-needed medical supplies to India’s worst hit regions.

“I’m proud of our team for getting out there and helping raise awareness of the situation in India,” says Angela Busby, the firm’s Chief Strategy Officer. “It’s hard watching the humanitarian crisis unfold, but by coming together we can help make a real difference, and save lives.”

All the funds raised by Relief Run will go toward World Vision’s Covid-19 India appeal, which is sourcing equipment and supplies including beds, oxygen concentrators, food vouchers and tents for temporary care centres.
