Suncorp New Zealand Appointments

Suncorp New Zealand has appointed Alison Barrass and Kate Jorgensen as independent directors of its New Zealand Boards, which include its Asteron Life and Vero insurance businesses.

Alison Barrass

Barrass has previously held CEO roles at Goodman Fielder, Breast Cancer Cure and Griffin Foods, and brings a broad range of skills, including knowledge and expertise in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector and in governance, operational, leadership and innovation.

She is currently a director with Spark NZ, Rockit Apples and Zespri, and is Chair of Tom & Luke and Babich Wines.

Kate Jorgensen

Jorgensen has significant financial, audit and commercial experience, according to the release announcement, and has previously held CFO roles at Vodafone New Zealand, KiwiRail, Fletcher Building’s infrastructure division and a was senior audit manager for KPMG. She also has extensive governance experience with a focus on risk management and sustainability.
