New Chief Risk Officer at AIA

AIA NZ has appointed Ben Lovelock as its new Chief Risk Officer. He took up the role on 3 July following the retirement of Doune Connett.

Lovelock joins AIA NZ from AIA Group, and has almost 20 years’ experience in the industry, spanning actuarial and finance practice areas.

Born and raised in Sydney, Lovelock holds a Master’s degree in Applied Finance from Macquarie University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce – Actuarial Studies and Information Systems – from the University of New South Wales.

He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia having trained as an actuary at AMP Australia.

Lovelock worked with the Actuarial Services practice of PwC Hong Kong, and has been with AIA Group since 2018, holding roles such as Director in the Group Chief Actuary’s Office, and Head of Ratings, Group Treasury.
