The appointment of two new leaders in AIA’s Distribution team attracted much reader interest this week…
AIA NZ has announced two new leadership appointments to its Distribution team, both of which are internal promotions.
The insurer says Hannah Anderson has been appointed as Head of Retail Distribution and Ben McQuay as Head of Corporate Solutions.
AIA NZ Chief Distribution Officer Angela Busby says she’s delighted to welcome Anderson and McQuay to these newly established roles.
She says they are both “…valued existing members of our AIA NZ team, and I’m very proud to be able to promote some great internal talent with these appointments.”
Busby says they are both experienced in business development and relationship management and have a strong track record of delivering results for advisers and distribution partners.
Anderson joined AIA NZ in 2021 as a Business Development Manager at AIA’s Christchurch office, before stepping up to Regional Sales Manager for the Southern region. Prior to joining AIA, she held various roles at Les Mills, Air NZ and Coca-Cola.
As Head of Retail Distribution, Anderson leads a team of business development managers providing support and strengthening relationships with advisers across New Zealand, within AIA’s IFA, Aligned Advice, and Home Loans distribution channels. She will continue to be based out of the Christchurch office.
McQuay has more than 13 years’ experience with the AIA team, joining the organisation from his prior role at ACC. He has held various sales and business development roles, most recently as National Sales Manager – Strategic Accounts.
As Head of Corporate Solutions, McQuay leads AIA’s Group insurance distribution team, supporting long-standing relationships with organisations across New Zealand, while identifying and establishing new opportunities for growth within this distribution channel.
Farewells
The company says it is also farewelling Head of IFA and Group Distribution, Anna Schubert, and Head of Aligned Advice, Jack Newman.
Busby says Schubert has been with the company for 29 years. “In her time here at AIA NZ, and at Sovereign, she has led significant change and growth in the adviser distribution space. Her love for our industry is evident to all who know her, and we will miss her presence in the team.”
Newman has spent almost 10 years at AIA NZ “…and his dedication to our industry and his passion and belief in our purpose …. has been of great value to our team,” Busby says.
