Asteron Life has announced a series of enhancements across its Personal and Business Insurance products, which it says are aimed at improving flexibility and support for customers and advisers.
Executive Manager, Life Portfolio & New Business, Claire Sutton, says the insurer is always working to provide customers with the most meaningful value it can.
“These enhancements are designed to streamline and offer improved benefits across a broad range of insurance solutions. We also know times are tight for many New Zealanders right now, so we’ve worked hard to make these improvements without increasing customer premiums.”
Asteron Life highlighted a few of its enhancements:
• New support benefits. For example, Family Member Accommodation & Transport Benefit: Up to $300/day for accommodation and $2,500 in travel expenses reimbursed to support a family member during treatment
• Updated definition for major organ transplant, including widening the scope of eligible procedures
• Updated definition for diabetes, including reducing the threshold for claims from two complications to one
• New Rehabilitation and retraining Benefit for Business Insurance customers: Increased support of return-to-work efforts by reimbursing rehabilitation and retraining costs
• Increased flexibility to increase cover in line with life or business changes that happen to customers
The company says all enhancements apply to in-force policies issued after August 2004 and will apply to claimable events from June 5, 2025.
Sutton says there is nothing customers or advisers need to do to receive these and encourages customers to approach their adviser if they have any questions.
