Big Tick For AIA

AIA New Zealand has been given the Gender Tick from the Young Women’s Christian  Association (YWCA). It is the first insurer in the country to achieve the award.

YWCA, a registered charity in New Zealand, is part of a global movement supporting women’s empowerment, leadership and rights.

Its Gender Tick award is designed to show a company’s commitment to providing fair workplaces for all employees regardless of gender.

The charity independently assesses employee policies and processes to ensure that businesses do the right thing for their staff.

AIA New Zealand’s CEO, Nick Stanhope, says: “Over half of our leadership team and six out of our ten executive leaders are women.

“As a company we have long been committed to a diverse and balanced workplace that supports our people to succeed, and so it is great to have been recognised with this accreditation.”

In order to achieve the Gender Tick businesses must demonstrate excellence in the following areas:

  • Gender inclusive culture
  • Safe Workplace
  • Flexible Work & Leave
  • Leadership Representation
  • Equal Pay
AIA celebrates being awarded the Gender Tick from YWCA.
