Cigna New Zealand has appointed Tony Lane as its Chief Risk Officer – a newly-created role at the firm.
Lane has banking and financial services sector experience, and has worked as Chief Risk Officer at both the China Construction Bank and BNZ Retail, as well as various consulting assignments for financial institutions including Kiwibank.
Lane says his goal is to establish a culture at Cigna NZ where risks can be raised simply and effectively, “…without hesitation”.
“We’ll be equipping our people with the knowledge and tools to proactively identify where risks lie in our day-to-day operations,” he says.
Gail Costa, CEO of Cigna NZ, says the Chief Risk Officer role was created as a result of Cigna and OnePath combining earlier this year.
