Cigna Boosts Distribution Team with New Appointments

Cigna says its latest round of Distribution team appointments reinforces its commitment to New Zealanders wanting access to quality, independent financial advice.

Its new team includes Karen Smith, who joins Cigna from AIA/Sovereign as Distribution Operations Manager.

Smith is a well-known and respected face in market, says Cigna, with more than 22 years’ experience in the industry. She will head up the firm’s’s back-office support for advisers.

Danielle Penberthy joins the Auckland-based Business Partnership Manager (BPM) team from Insurance/Mortgage Link and previously Fidelity Life. Penberthy brings more 19 years’ industry and sales experience to the team.

In the South Island, Ian Greig joins the Business Partnership Team from Asteron. He will be based in Christchurch and has 30 years’ experience in financial services, adviser and Sales Manager roles.

Christine Laverty has been appointed to the firm’s newly-created role of National Strategic Alliances Manager. She will work with dealer and corporate groups as well as new business opportunities.
