Cigna New Zealand has appointed Jeremy Valentine as its General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer.
A lawyer with 25 years’ experience in financial services, Valentine will join the firm on 13 September from The Co-operative Bank where he was General Manager – Risk, Legal & Governance.
Wellington-based valentine has held key positions within ANZ and The National Bank, as well as in two law firms.
Cigna NZ’s CEO Gail Costa says Valentine will be responsible for managing the insurer’s risk management framework, regulatory engagement, compliance, and ensuring good governance.
“He’ll also play an important role in the leadership team by supporting our wider strategic priorities,” says Costa.
Valentine says he’ll strengthen Cigna’s risk frameworks, “…ensuring strong governance and an unwavering focus on our customers”.
