Our latest poll results indicate that a large majority of advisers see KiwiSaver conversations increasingly emerging as new opportunities to provide life insurance advice.
As we go to press, nearly seven in 10 (68%) of those voting agree they’re finding that the growth in both KiwiSaver funds and in New Zealanders’ interest in KiwiSaver is increasingly becoming a pathway to talking with clients about life insurance.
Fewer than a fifth of advisers (18%) disagree with the premise and 14% of those taking part in the poll were not sure either way.
We had posed the question to discover if you felt talking more about KiwiSaver presented more opportunities to add value for your clients’ future investment and wealth building, while at the same time generating new conversations about wealth protection?
…a potential new lever to discuss life insurance in greater detail…?
Might a KiwiSaver conversation act as a potential new lever to discuss life insurance in greater detail with your clients?
We had earlier reported on a new partnership between The Adviser Platform and KiwiSaver specialist Hive which aimed to make KiwiSaver easier to bring into the wider advice relationship, helping advisers support more of their clients’ financial needs.
Citing recent FMA research, which found that less than a third of New Zealanders are accessing financial advice, TAP and Hive said they were joining forces to help close New Zealand’s advice gap (see: TAP Forms New Partnership with KiwiSaver Specialist).
We remain interested to learn your own view on whether providing KiwiSaver advice might represent an opportunity to generate more life insurance conversations and our poll remains open for another week…
