The two-day annual conference to be held in Wellington by Financial Advice NZ on 16-17 November has been turned into an online-only event due to the uncertainty of government lockdown levels that restrict travel and limits group numbers.
The organisation’s CEO Katrina Shanks says the decision was made with a “heavy heart”.
“November’s Be Inspired, Be Energised conference will be 100% online,” says Shanks.
“This decision has been made for a number of reasons, but mostly it’s due to the uncertainty of if we will get to Level 1 in time, then would we be able to have more than 100 people in one room or place at one time.”
Auckland is currently in a level 3 lockdown and level 2 restrictions apply to most of the rest of the country.
Shanks says the decision to go online means event organisers can focus on delivering the best experience to delegates and sponsors.
“We delivered a great online conference last year and we’ll do it again this year,” she says.
Financial Advice NZ has reduced delegate registration for members to $395 plus GST for the two days (non-members $495). Those who have already paid will be refunded the difference, says Shanks.
“If you sign up a new member to belong to Financial Advice NZ, conference registration is half price for both of you,” she says.
The conference will be recorded so those who register can catch up on any session they miss.
