Your Opinion Wanted on Proposed Income Protection Scheme

Financial Advice NZ is calling for submissions from across its membership to help it form a response to the government’s proposed income insurance scheme.

The organisation’s CEO Katrina Shanks held a webinar to discuss the plan, during which a vote showed mixed feelings for the scheme that would see those out of work – through no fault of their own – paid 80% of their salary or wages for up to seven months.

The Financial Advice NZ poll showed 23% of those who voted support the scheme, 37% do not, and 40% are unsure.

“We received a lot of valuable feedback which we are collating for our submission due 26 April,” says Shanks.
