A meeting place for advisers and clients will be among the key features of a new office for Partners Life in Auckland’s CBD. The new site follows the recent opening of its Wellington CBD office.

The company’s Chief People Officer, Trish Meakin, says the offices are part of the firm’s preparation to welcome staff from BNZ life insurance. Partners Life entered into an agreement to buy the bank’s life business in 2020 for $290 million – a settlement date for completion of the agreement has yet to be announced.

“We are really excited to be expanding our presence in New Zealand to include both Wellington and Auckland CBD, in addition to our flagship office in Takapuna,” says Meakin.

The firm’s Auckland office will form part of the Albert’s community at the recently refurbished 1 Albert Street building.

Meakin says facilities there include a hub for when BNZ insurance colleagues join its team “…as well as providing a contemporary and engaging meeting place for clients, advisers, and external partners”.

The Wellington office has harbour views and allows the firm to be “…closer to key partners and advisers, and source talent from the Wellington region”.

Partners Life worked with Unispace on the fit out of its office in the Capital and Meakin says it was a “…unique experience designing and overseeing a fit out remotely throughout the various pandemic lockdowns and the challenges that Covid brought to the process”.

“We managed to pull it off thanks to good communication and regular ‘walk throughs’ of the office using cameras so that we could visualise the finished space,” she says.
