Cigna has confirmed it will renew its two-month free cover offer into the summer months.

In his latest update released this week, Cigna GM Distribution, David Haak, said that to help advisers with their client conversations in the lead-up to summer and the festive season, the insurer is offering two months of free cover for new customers who purchase life insurance through an adviser (see also our previous report: Cigna Extends Free Cover Offer).

The latest round of this offer commences from 7 November 2022, and extends to the end of January 2023. It also applies – as has been the case with the previous campaigns – to eligible existing customers.

Taken from the insurer’s website, additional details in relation to the two months’ free cover offer include:

  • The offer is open to new customers who take up any new policy for any qualifying Cigna advice product
  • The offer is also open to existing customers who increase their cover on any qualifying Cigna Advice product
  • Two months, or equivalent, premiums will be paid (this will equate to 62 days of premiums credited to the policy for the customer)
  • Applies to new policies/increases captured from 7 November 2022 to 31 January 2023 and issued before 28 February 2023

This offer is open to all benefits in the insurer’s Assurance Extra, Business Extra, Business Assurance and Agribusiness Extra product range.

Specific Injury Cover offer

In his update, Haak also encourages advisers to consider the insurer’s free Specific Injury Cover offer, which concludes at the end of this month.

He says Specific Injury Cover is there to help support claimants’ recovery with extra financial support for injuries from common accidents such as fractures and burns that other insurance or ACC may not cover.

Until the end of November, Haak notes all eligible Cigna customers who take out a new Assurance Extra policy through an adviser will receive $2,000 of free Specific Injury cover for a year (see also our earlier report: Free Specific Injury Cover…).

…we’ve been overwhelmed with positive feedback

Haak concluded, “Since the release of our two months’ free offer earlier this year, we’ve been overwhelmed with positive feedback from you about the impact the offer has had for your new and existing customers. Along with our current Free Specific Injury offer, we’re giving you more opportunities to finish the year with a big splash.”
