Chubb Life Publishes Top-Line Claim Data

Chubb Life, formerly Cigna, has released its top-line claim data for 2022 saying it paid 93% of all claims received.

For life cover, most of the claims (64%) were for females aged 50 to 59 and males aged 60 to 69. A breakdown shows that 51% of all claims related to cancer, with heart-related claims coming a distant second at 14%.

Cancer also topped the firm’s trauma cover list at 62%, with heart claims sitting at 16%.

Musculo-skeletal topped the firm’s income protection channel at 56%, and claims for mental health amounted to 12% under this category.

For TPD, cancer again topped the list at 37%, a quarter were for musculo-skeletal, and 13% related to neurological disorders.

And of income cover claims, 64% were made by those aged 30 to 49.
