Gail Costa, CEO Chubb Life Insurance NZ, is to retire from the company next year.
Costa was CEO Cigna Life NZ and remained in the top job when the firm was bought by Chubb in 2022.
Brad Bennett, Senior VP, Chubb Group and CEO, Chubb Life, described Costa in July 2022 as a strong leader with “…deep expertise across finance, operations and marketing…we’re fortunate to have Gail in this position”.
With more than 20 years’ executive experience, she has held CEO positions in Turkey, Hong Kong, and Europe.
Prior to this, Costa was GM Operations for Royal Sun Alliance Life Insurance. She has also held finance, marketing and operational positions at Colonial Mutual Life, the New Zealand Council for Educational Research, and AMEV Life.
In a statement, Chubb says Costa will leave the firm in April 2025 and that it has started a transition plan for a successor, to “…ensure seamless business continuity for our customers, employees, business partners and other stakeholders”.
In December 2023 the firm’s GM – Distribution, David Haak, resigned after three years at the firm.
