Australian adviser community network, Ensombl, has launched a new CPD platform across the ditch which it says has the capacity to reduce the time taken to complete a CPD process from months to minutes.
In what Ensombl CEO, Clayton Daniel, describes as an astronomical step forward, not only can the new Australian CPD platform use latest technology to drastically reduce the time taken to complete a CPD accreditation process, it also offers the capacity to convert every-day learnings undertaken by advisers within their own practice and convert those learnings into valid, accredited CPD content:
“Not only [is the platform] a massive time-saver but it also recognises and rewards the behind-the-scenes work that advisers do every day as part of their role,” says Daniel.
Harnessing the benefits now available through artificial intelligence, Daniel points out that the Australian Corporations Act legislation refers to CPD ‘activities’, as opposed to CPD courses or videos or presentations, which allows the opportunity for licensees and advice practices to vastly expand the options available to them – from within their own regular activities – to create accreditable CPD content.
According to Daniel, examples of such activities could include investment committee meetings, practice management and advice strategy conversations and compliance updates:
the new platform …has the capacity to respect the work advisers are already doing
“These are examples of the actual professional development advisers are already undertaking on a daily basis, and which also correspond to the mandated CPD categories,” he says, confirming the new platform therefore has the capacity to respect the work advisers are already doing by converting elements of their day-to-day work into valid, tailored, personalised CPD content.
By way of a working example of how the new Ensombl CPD platform process operates, Daniel says the platform can take a transcription file or an audio file which it can then transcribe, upload it into the system, which will assess the content against all legislated CPD requirements in approximately 30 seconds and allocate the now-accredited activity to the correct CPD category.
Daniel says the introduction of the platform is a pivotal moment in the firm’s commitment to reducing the administrative burden on advisers and licensees.
“Our entire purpose for doing this is to unite genuine professional development with compliant CPD content,” says Daniel.
