Fidelity Life’s Head of Group Life won the Emerging Trailblazer Award at the 2025 FSC Awards for her work “…championing accessibility, inclusion and intergenerational financial wellbeing for Māori and Pacific whānau,” the insurer says.

Anita Los’e (Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Kahungunu), was honoured with the award which Fidelity Life says recognises her outstanding leadership as its Head of Group Life “…citing her tireless work to improve access and representation for Māori and Pacific communities across Aotearoa.” (Also see: Life Insurance Leader Honoured at FSC Awards).

“When employers offer their staff insurance they are showing they care for their people, many of whom may never have had insurance before. When that cover is coupled with advice and support that understands our culture and context, we break down the barriers to their financial wellbeing. That’s the kaupapa that drives me.”

Fidelity Life says Los’e ‘s impact extends beyond her day‑to‑day role and that her  work reflects a values‑led approach grounded in lived experience and practical action.

“She serves on the selection panel for Fidelity Life’s Career connect scholarships for Māori and Pasifika people seeking a career in finance. She’s a founding member of the Te Ao Māori working group, and earlier this year participated in the Māori Leadership Summit.”

Bronwyn Kirwan, Fidelity Life’s Chief Commercial Officer, says Los’e’s leadership is grounded in purpose “…and her commitment to creating meaningful change for Māori and Pasifika communities is inspiring. [She] brings heart, strategy and vision to everything she does — and this award is a testament to the impact she’s making across our industry and beyond.”

With a career spanning more than 20 years — from administration through claims, consulting, broking and compliance roles in Aotearoa and Australia — Los’e now leads the Group Life business, serving over 100,000 customers.

The company says her leadership combines operational excellence with a deep commitment to equity, representation and access.
