The Financial Services Council has highlighted more details, including some keynote speakers, for its 2026 conference, Amplify, being held in Auckland on August 12-13.

The FSC says the conference will include 35 sessions with more than 100 speakers and more than 700 attendees.

Sir John Key

Amongst the confirmed speakers is former Prime Minister, Sir John Key, delivering the opening keynote address where he will “…reflect on the decisions made during this time in government, including the legacy of KiwiSaver, the investment choices that continue to influence NZ today and, with the benefit of hindsight, what he might do differently.”

Sir John will also join broadcaster Jack Tame for a live Q&A “…exploring the leadership lessons from his time in office, the economic and political landscape ahead, and the choices that will shape New Zealand’s future,” the FSC states.

The council says the finance spokespeople from New Zealand’s major political parties will take the stage to outline their vision for the economy, financial services and the country’s long-term prosperity.

Hon. Barbara Edmonds

“Hear their priorities, compare the choices ahead, and understand the policies that could shape our sector for years to come. Labour’s Finance Spokesperson, Hon Barbara Edmonds, is the first confirmed speaker.”

Among the other speakers is pollster and political commentator, David Farrar who, the FSC says, goes beyond the headlines “…combining the latest election polling with exclusive FSC research into the hopes, concerns and financial pressures shaping the national mood.”
