Partners Life has completed a range of enhancements to its My Underwriting Manager and QFA systems, which the insurer says supports its move to a fully paperless new business experience.
In an Adviser Update the company says the changes means new business, increases and alterations can now be completed entirely through its online tools.
“These updates help make applications easier to complete, reduce the risk of missing information, and support a faster, smoother experience for you and your clients. They also help reduce paper usage as part of our collective commitment to a more sustainable future.”
It notes that to support the transition, paper forms will continue to be accepted where needed until the end of August. From September, Partners Life’s goal is for all new business, increases and alterations to be completed through the online tools.
As to what has changed the insurer points to:
- Newborns can now be added directly in QFA, with available excess options displaying correctly, and the Specialist & Tests option able to be added where parents don’t already have it. This won’t trigger an application form or DOCGH, because no underwriting is required for newborns when adding Medical/Specialist and Tests if one of the parents have this benefit
- A new ‘Wait for Adviser Before Issuing’ button has been added to QFA, giving advisers flexibility to confirm exactly when they’d like a policy to proceed
- Behind-the-scenes updates have been made to help QFA trigger the correct outstanding requirements
- To help keep things moving smoothly, advisers no longer need to send in signed quotes or separate email instructions for QFA changes. The instructions captured in QFA tell the Partners Life’ team exactly what is changing, which helps avoid duplication, reduces the need for extra checking, and supports faster processing
- For a reminder of what can and can’t be applied for online through QFA, Partners Life says advisers should refer to its Existing Business Process Guide and the Alterations Requirements Guide. These explain which changes are available through QFA, how to submit them, and any authority, supporting information or requirements that may apply
- Payment details are now more clearly highlighted in MUM where required
The update says payment details are important because both a completed application and payment details are required to activate interim cover.
