Quotemonster is seeking advisers’ views, through an online survey, on the use of AI to access the firm’s research as part of the advice process.
In a message to subscribers, Russell Hutchinson, Director of Quality Product Research, says shortly the firm will be developing a Model Context Protocol—or MCP—server.
“In simple terms this will provide a secure and straightforward way for approved AI tools to access the Quotemonster research available through your account,” he says.
Hutchinson says lots of advisers are experimenting with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Marloo, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Grok, and more.
He says for example an adviser might be able to ask an AI tool, which can access the Quotemonster research, to:
- Identify product features relevant to a particular client’s meeting notes
- Pull in company research, underwriting requirements, and closed product research from your Quotemonster work
- Incorporate research comparisons into an advice document
- Consider Quotemonster research alongside information such as a Fact Find, renewal notice or offer of terms
- Help explain important product differences in language appropriate for the client.
He says the survey will help the firm build a priority list of advisers keen to connect their accounts, which systems they want to connect to, and what they would like to do.
Hutchinson explains that advisers tell the firm, they want to connect systems to get the benefits of automation and reduce double-handling data, noting it already has nine live connections (via APIs) with the most popular CRM and needs analysis tools, with 24 in development or testing.
Now it is looking at AI systems.
