The Financial Services Council has opened registrations for Outlook 2027 which it says brings financial services leaders and policymakers together to focus on the priorities and opportunities shaping New Zealand’s financial future.

The annual breakfast event, which is taking place on February 25, 2007 in Auckland, is anchored around the theme No Small Plans “…encouraging bigger thinking about the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.”

FSC Chief Executive Kirk Hope says that whatever the outcome of the general election, the focus must remain on building a stronger financial future for New Zealanders.

“Regardless of who forms the next government, we need to keep moving forward on the issues that matter.”

He says the FSC’s election manifesto, The Prosperity Agenda, set out a clear direction for strengthening the financial system, helping New Zealanders save and invest, and protecting people and families against financial shocks.

“Achieving that requires stable policy settings, long-term thinking and practical cooperation between government and industry.”

Hope says the event is an opportunity to bring the sector together and build momentum around those shared priorities.

“Good ideas deserve bigger ambition. Outlook is about challenging our thinking, hearing different perspectives and starting the year focused on what we can achieve collectively.”

The FSC says further programme details and speaker announcements will follow.
