Financial Advice New Zealand has highlighted the speakers and programme for its Advice Policy Summit 2026 being held in Auckland on July 28.
The event, which is being held in conjunction with the Financial Planning Standards Board Asia Pacific Forum – which Financial Advice NZ is hosting, features a mix of international speakers from the FPSB alongside New Zealand advice leaders with the Minister of Commerce & Consumer Affairs, Cameron Brewer, undertaking a live Q&A from Parliament.
Amongst the international speakers are Sarah Abood, CEO of the Financial Adviser Association Australia, and Lelane Bezuidenhout, CEO of the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa. They will be looking at ‘Financial advice policy case studies: Lessons in unintended consequences, and when it goes right’.
A keynote speaker is Dante de Gori from the USA, the CEO of the FPSB. His address will look at: ‘Knowing, Doing, Being: The standards and framework that define the global financial advice profession.
Another international speaker, offering a UK policy perspective, is Chris Morris, Head of Financial Planning Policy & Engagement at the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments. He will discuss how the targeted support regime intends to bridge the UK advice gap, via video from London,
Meanwhile among the New Zealand speakers is the FMA’s CEO Samatha Barrass who is delivering a keynote address, while Financial Advice NZ’s CEO Advice Forum will look into what makes a modern financial adviser and what good advice looks like.
Retirement Commissioner, David Boyle discusses defining decumulation and bridging the retirement income gap.
