With an extensive background in financial services and previously the Client Director of FDRS, Slater is currently General Manager of Resolution Institute, a dispute resolution membership body across New Zealand and Australia.

“Trevor is well known to us here at Financial Dispute Resolution Service, having previously led our team,” said Liz Hogan, Head of FairWay’s Commercial Services which includes FDRS.

“We know that Trevor will bring a balanced consumer perspective to the Council, as he has a unique understanding of the disputes that financial service providers and their clients may find themselves in,” she added, noting Slater is known for his focus on early dispute resolution.

Slater replaced Bill Bevan, who resigned from the Advisory Council in August. There is still one vacancy, as Dr Pushpa Wood also stepped down at the recent AGM.

“While we are very pleased to have Trevor on board, sadly we have said goodbye to Bill and Pushpa,” said Hogan.

“I would like to thank Bill and Pushpa for their commitment and contributions to Financial Dispute Resolution Service.”
