Fidelity Life is dispensing with its Chief Distribution Officer (CDO) role, a position held by Adrian Riminton until he became the firm’s Chief Risk Officer on 1 April.

The insurer says the CDO role is being renamed Chief Sales & Service Officer (CSSO) and will include customer service responsibilities in addition to focusing on relationships with advisers and other distribution partners.

Fidelity Life CEO Melissa Cantell says the change will create one team focused on meeting customers’ needs “…while contributing to the ongoing evolution of our adviser proposition”. See our story: Change and Transformation at Fidelity Life.

The company’s underwriting, new business and claims teams will continue reporting to Chief Insurance Officer Kath Johnson. In addition the firm is creating a Chief Operating Officer position.

“These changes will enable us to transform more quickly and sustainably, [to] keep evolving our adviser proposition and reflect our aspiration to be truly customer-led,” says Cantell.

The firm’s Head of Professional Development Trecia Brown will continue as acting CDO until a Chief Sales & Service Officer is recruited.
