More than eight thousand financial advisers from around the world will be visiting Australia next year, following the announcement that the MDRT organisation will be bringing its new annual global meeting to Sydney in September 2019.
In a move that reflects the continuing growth of this global adviser association, its 2018 President, James D. Pittman, announced the initiative during this year’s MDRT Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, which has just completed.
Speaking to the 15,000 delegates at this year’s Annual Meeting event, Pittman announced that the 2019 Annual Meeting will take place in Miami, Florida, from June 9-12, but that its global membership can also attend the inaugural 2019 Global Conference, which will take place in Sydney from September 1-4, 2019.
Pittman said Sydney “…will welcome 8,000 of the world’s top earning professionals to join their Australian peers to exchange insights, share innovative practices and collaborate with the best in their profession.” He added that those attending can expect to access exclusive and local content and have the opportunity to develop global networking opportunities.
We are optimistic about the future growth of the organisation
“We are optimistic about the future growth of the organisation with our meeting expansion to offer our members more opportunities to network at next year’s Annual Meeting [in Miami] as well as our first-ever Global Conference,” said Pittman.
In another first, Pittman also announced that MDRT members can now nominate the speakers they want to see at both events: “…our meetings are driven by serving our member’s professional development needs, and we look forward to seeing how they shape our offering,” he said.
MDRT has advised that the 2019 MDRT Recommend a Speaker online form is now open for both conferences. Members have the opportunity to submit their speaker recommendations for the 2019 MDRT Annual Meeting in Miami or the 2019 MDRT Global Conference in Sydney. Recommended speakers can also be considered for both meetings. The open call for potential speaker names is available online now until July 13, 2018.
