The Board has said its chair Catherine Brenner will lead a search for his replacement, looking at candidates internally and externally within the Australian market and abroad.

“Craig has led the transformation of AMP over the past five years,” said Brenner.

“The business has a clear and compelling strategy for growth and is performing well.”

Australian-based Meller said it has been a privilege to lead AMP but as it heads towards its next phase of growth, the time is right for the company to enter new leadership.

“I remain very focused on executing our strategy and driving the performance of the business until my successor has been appointed and will support the Board to ensure a smooth handover,” he said.

The Board confirmed Meller will continue to deliver AMP’s 2018 strategy and ensure the leadership transition is a smooth one.
