Kepa General Sees Early Success

Kepa has reported that its recent expansion into general insurance has been positively received by advisers.

The new initiative, Kepa General, began on 6 August 2018 and officially launched to the network on 17 September.

Kepa advisers can refer their client’s fire and general insurance needs to Kepa General, keeping it in-house instead of using the services of a third party, who may have they own life insurance units.

Kepa General Insurance Manager, Lee Rudolph

Kepa General Insurance Manager, Lee Rudolph, who has over 16 years of industry experience in the fire and general space, told RiskinfoNZ they have had many good wins on the back of adviser referrals since the launch.

Rudolph said he turned one referral around in a few hours, where the client required a $10 million liability limit to start work on a contract.

He said they also recently picked up a $40,000 account on the back of a referral, where the client was not satisfied with the current service they were experiencing.

“I got an introduction, met with the client, and was appointed to the account a couple of days later,” said Rudolph. “I’ve also placed several of the advisers commercial and domestic insurances.”
