Fidelity Life is the latest life insurer to announce it will end overseas incentive trips for advisers, namely its Partnership Programme.

“The insurance industry is undergoing fundamental change and we are mindful of evolving public expectations,” the insurer said in a statement. “We support a model where customers’ interests come first.”

Fidelity Life’s Partnership Programme has been part of its adviser platform BLACK by Fidelity Life, which is built on the values of education, giving back and recognition.

“We’re fully committed to supporting our advisers and partners and are building an exciting BLACK programme for 2019 and beyond,” the insurer stated.

“However, we’ve decided that the Partnership Programme 2019 will be the last one in the current format. Ultimately our goal is to set the industry up for a sustainable and successful future with the customer at the centre of everything we do.”

Policy Fees Waived

In other Fidelity Life news, the insurer launched a new campaign called ‘Bye Bye Policy Fees’ on 3 December, which sees policy fees being waived for the life of the policy on new business applications up to 3 March 2019.

Fidelity Life was also named Life Insurance Company of the Year for the second consecutive year at the recent 2018 New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards.

Hosted by The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, the insurer won the award against fellow finalists Asteron Life and Partners Life.

The judges commended Fidelity Life for its clear strategy, employee engagement, digital and automation successes and strong financial performance.
