Insurance companies’ took out five of the major industry awards at the FSC’s 2026 Awards, which recognise excellence in the New Zealand financial services sector.
The awards were presented at the FSC Awards Dinner during the FSC26 Conference last week. The winners were:
- Contribution to Community Award: nib New Zealand for its commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Pacific RSE workers
- Emerging Trailblazer Award: Raffi Rassam, Fidelity Life (Winner); Vincent Colombié, Fidelity Life (Highly Commended)
- Excellence in ESG Award: AIA New Zealand (Winner); Public Trust (Highly Commended)
- Excellence in Wellbeing & Inclusion Award: AIA New Zealand
- Team of the Year Award: Financial Wellbeing and Inclusion Team, Westpac (Winner); Medical Claims Team, Partners Life (Highly Commended)
- Innovation of the Year Award: Claims 3D Tool, Fidelity Life (Winner); New digital system for KiwiSaver early withdrawal applications, Public Trust (Highly Commended)
- Workplace Savings Award: Gavin Quigan, Former Principal Adviser, Restricted Managed Investment Schemes
- Chair’s Award for Services to the Industry: Rob Flannagan, Former Independent FSC Chair

FSC CEO Kirk Hope congratulated all the winners noting the “…quality of the entries and the impressive outcomes achieved made the judging process particularly challenging.”
The FSC Awards 2026 programme received 44 entries from across the sector “…highlighting outstanding work on a variety of levels, from individual and teams, to initiatives and community contributions.”
