The Board of the Financial Markets Authority says it has commissioned an independent employment investigation concerning matters relating to FMA Chief Executive, Samantha Barrass.
In a statement the FMA board says that Paul Wicks KC has been appointed as the independent investigator.
“This investigation is separate from the conduct and culture review being undertaken by MBIE. No findings or conclusions have been reached at this stage, and the FMA cannot provide further detail at this time, for privacy reasons,” it says. (See Investigation into Conduct and Culture).
Earlier in August experienced director, James Miller was appointed as Chair of the FMA for a five-year term following the resignation of the FMA’s previous Chair Craig Stobo in May (see: FMA Chair Resigns).
RiskinfoNZ previously reported Barrass was on a period of leave (see: Cultural Concerns at FMA).
