Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) NZ Chair, Katrina Church, says tapping into the global network of advisers that is MDRT is more valuable than ever for advisers in a changing regulatory environment.
“We’ve got a real change happening at the present time around regulation that is scary and time consuming for many advisers,” says Church.
While noting that life insurance off-shore conferences are ending, Church said, “What we’re not getting in the industry enough is professional development from our peers because no one is really offering it. There’s not a lot of sales discussion; it’s all about regulation.
“So MDRT from that perspective is advisers supporting advisers; internationally not only just locally,” she said.
Church said for those looking to become a member, now is the time to apply online.
On 1-4 September 2019, MDRT will hold its first ever Annual Global Conference in Sydney.
“This is a great opportunity to attend Down Under,” said Church “It’s not as far to travel and to get a taste of what MDRT can offer.”
She noted that registrations are set to open in the first week of March and sell out fast.
“There is capacity for 9000 pax and it will sell out as quickly as the annual meeting,” said Church.
“Last year, 15,000 advisers registered to attend our Los Angeles Meeting in less than 48 hours,” she said, adding advisers will need to be registered as a member before 1st March to make it in time.
To attend, Church explained advisers need to qualify for membership by writing a certain level of business and pay an annual membership fee, before registering for the event.
Among its other events, the MDRT Annual Meeting will take place from June 9-12 in Miami and Top of the Table from September 25-28 in Austin Texas.
Church said she is keen to hear from advisers looking for a study group or looking to be mentored or become a mentor.
