AIA has appointed Grant Thomson to the role of Vitality Coach, ahead of it bringing wellness programme AIA Vitality to New Zealand.
The insurer says the Vitality programme will be a game-changer for the life insurance market in New Zealand.
Since its launch by Discovery in South Africa 20 years ago, Vitality has been introduced to 15 different markets, with over eight million members worldwide.
Thomson, who brings with him over 20 years’ experience in working with insurance advisers, was part of the Discovery distribution team during the launch of Vitality in South Africa.
As a result, he has seen first-hand the positive effects that Vitality can have on advisers and on their ongoing relationships with customers.
Thomson says he is looking forward to working with advisers to help bring AIA Vitality to the New Zealand life insurance market.
“My role is primarily to help build healthier, longer, better relationships with advisers as we bring AIA Vitality to New Zealand,” he said.
“I’ll be working to help advisers get the most out of AIA Vitality as we all start to change the way we think about insurance and the wellness of our customers. It’s an exciting time for AIA, for advisers and for our customers,” Grant said.
AIA Vitality is set to be available for distribution by AIA’s adviser and partner network in the coming months.
