Kris Faafoi to Open Advice Summit

Kris Faafoi, Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, is to open the 11 February Get In Shape Advice Summit in Wellington.

Organised by the FSC, FMA, MBIE and Financial Advice New Zealand – and supported by RiskInfoNZ – the industry event is for advisers, dealer groups, and suppliers.

While the summit launches in Wellington, the event will be repeated in Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin during February, where total delegate numbers are tipped to exceed 1,000.

Richard Klipin, CEO of the Financial Services Council says it will be an opportunity for the industry to hear first-hand from the Minister about the Government’s programme of reform for the sector.

“I am looking forward to seeing so many advisers coming together as a sector to work to deliver the best possible consumer outcomes,” says Klipin.

The summits will provide insight, support and information to the financial advice community and help them prepare for the 29 June 2020 implementation of the new Financial Advice Regime.
