With 30% of all complaints to the Privacy Commissioner being blamed on the senders of emails, it’s clear there’s plenty of room for improvement when it comes to protecting the privacy of clients.

The office of New Zealand’s Privacy Commissioner is concerned about sensitive documents being emailed to the wrong recipients, and about emails showing multiple addresses.

While the privacy laws that were introduced almost six months ago are wide and complex, it appears the basics are still being overlooked by some in the adviser community.
