It’s been four months since the release of Cigna’s Specific Injury Cover and the firm says sales figures are strong.

“We’re pleased to see that a wide range of customers are taking out this cover,” says the firm.

“Almost a quarter of policies sold so far have been to customers in their 20s, and nearly half to customers aged in their 30s. More than 60% of policies have been purchased by men.”

When it comes to occupation classes, more than half the policies have been bought by those who do light manual work, qualified tradesman such as builders or plumbers, and skilled manual workers such as bricklayers.

“We’ve also seen a significant number of policies placed with professionals, executives, and office workers,” says the firm.

Specific Injury Cover is available under Cigna’s Assurance Extra, Business Assurance and Agribusiness Extra range. Cover provides extra financial support for customers when they have an accident and suffer injuries such as fractures or burns.

“Anyone can benefit from Specific Injury, not just manual workers,” says the firm.

Specific Injury is also available to casual, seasonal or part-time workers as well as students and stay-at-home parents.

“The cover supports customers who may be otherwise limited on the cover they can get under other products which have occupational restrictions or require proof of income,” says Cigna.

“It’s also important to keep in mind the provision for individual considerations, which means customers with certain occupations (such as Airline Pilots) can still get Specific Injury Cover in some cases.”

Cigna’s Specific Injury Cover is available for customers from 16 up to age 60, and premiums aren’t rated by age.
