AIA Joins Quashed to Offer Life Products Online

Users of online insurance policy platform Quashed can now use it to buy AIA’s life insurance starter plans.

AIA NZ CEO Nick Stanhope says he’s pleased to launch the firm’s first digital direct partnership, offering basic and affordable insurance.

“These plans all come with our flagship AIA Vitality Starter programme, offering rewards and incentives for healthy lifestyle choices every day,” says Stanhope.

“We partnered with Quashed as we believe we have a shared commitment to making insurance more accessible for all New Zealanders.”

Stanhope says the decision to distribute starter plans digitally for the first time is part of the firm’s strategy to reach more Kiwis with “…simple and easy to access life insurance plans”, while helping to address the issue of underinsurance.

Quashed has gown its user base 35-fold since its launch 18 months ago, and is aiming for 100,000 customers by the year-end

“Research shows around 70% of Kiwis are underinsured and without adequate protection,” says Justin Lim, founder and CEO of Quashed.

“Making life products from a highly trusted brand like AIA more accessible on our digital platform makes it easier for Kiwis to research and buy cover for themselves and their families.”
