With almost half of insurance advisers in Australia charging clients for risk advice, this week’s poll sets out to establish if the trend will grow in New Zealand.
A survey of advice firms in Australia by Elixir Consulting found 44% of those providing insurance-only advice charge a fee on top of the product commissions they receive. Elixir reveals the average fee is $1,841 (AU$1,689).
However, more than half still operate under a commission-only hybrid structure of 60% upfront and 20% ongoing.
