Have you built appropriate measures into your advice process to ensure it will stand the test of time?
- Yes (64%)
- Not sure (32%)
- No (4%)
Our latest poll asked you to reflect on your advice to see how confident you are it will stand the test of time.
The poll follows Tony Vidler‘s opinion piece where he suggests all advisers need to ask themselves two key questions about the advice they deliver:
- Why was the advice appropriate for the client at that time?
- Can you evidence why the advice was suitable at the time?
With one week to go on our poll, the results so far show that 60% of respondents believe they have built appropriate measures into their advice process to ensure it stands the test of time. Of the remainder, 37% aren’t sure, and 2% selected ‘no’.
As Vidler notes in his article, unhappy clients have plenty of options to pursue if they feel they have not received appropriate advice (see: How Can You be Sure Your Advice Will Pass the Test).
