A proposal in Australia pushing for life companies to offer limited personal advice to consumers doesn’t wash with Kiwi advisers. According to our latest poll, little more than one third support the idea of it being adopted by Kiwi insurers.

Last week we shared news of the Australian advice market edging closer to introducing reforms that will see a new class of adviser employed by banks, super funds and life insurers to offer free limited personal advice to consumers who contact them directly.

Based on early voting, it appears support for the idea is limited in New Zealand with 54% of those who cast a vote indicating they are not open to the idea, 37% are in favour of it, and 9% aren’t sure what they think.

With one week still to go, there is still time to cast your vote and use the contact form to provide feedback on the idea.
