A ‘record-breaking’ claims payout announced by Partners Life attracted strong reader interest this week…

Partners Life paid more than $250 million in claims payouts for the financial year ending March 31, 2024, equating to 93% of claims paid.

In an adviser update the insurer describes this a “…record-breaking year for the business” and points to a cumulative $1.25 billion in claims paid since 2011.

Partners Life has also released a new online report This Is Partners Life – the story behind our claims that the firm says highlights its positive claims results and “…shines a spotlight on the vital role that our life and health cover plays in people’s lives.”

The report shows that the more than $250 million in claims paid comprised:

  • $72 million in private medical cover
  • $66 million in trauma cover
  • $61 million in life cover
  • $51 million in income and disability cover

The firm also highlights that it now insures more than 345,000 New Zealanders.
